RETTOCAMME at the Final Cut Lounge
RETTOCAMME presents The February Project 09 Pictures
chashama Film Festival : Final Cut Lounge
679 Third Avenue at 43rd Street
October 22-26, 2009
RETTOCAMME presents February Project 09 Pictures: concept and installation by Emma Cotter, featuring photography by Carla Coria, John Frame, Robert Fournier, Robert Gorski and Ryan Roth. All images were captured during an intimate one-hour live performance event earlier this year at Triskelion Arts in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Emma Cotter curates a selection from the hundreds of photographs, reconstructing the evening on two-dimensional surfaces, including the lounge windows. Multiple angles of spontaneous, bizarre moments, glimpses of the audience and portraits of musicians reveal endless perspectives.
Site-specific RETTOCAMME dance performances will occur Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 at 4 p.m. outside the chashama Film Festival lounge.
To gain entrance to the lounge you must hold a festival pass or single screening ticket ($7).

bottle cap troubles...
The RETTOCAMME Craft store on Etsy received legal notice from the representative of a major beer company this week:
"__________ has been engaged by ________ to help control the use of its marks. You are receiving this letter because ___________ has received information that you are advertising and/or selling products bearing one or more of the __________ marks, or confusingly similar derivations thereof. We understand that the inclusion of the __________ marks on your products may have been an oversight. However, on behalf of _________, __________ must demand that you discontinue your advertisement and sale of these products."
Hopefully I have not offended anyone else in this manner. (I still have half a kitchen full of beer caps that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill!)
As a graphic designer I have a great appreciation for the effort that goes into creating an effective logo and did not intend to insult anyone's brand. I enjoy giving these images another life especially since they are usually purchased by an avid fan of the beer in question. -Emma
